make you a celebrity overnight

so about two months ago i switched jobs and have found myself working in the most lovely boutique on bathurst surrounded by stunning clothing and a beautiful backdrop. and true to form as most hot things arrive in our fine city of toronto, there has been a decent amount of press around the opening of this new destination hot spot. one day a photographer arrived from a magazine and was going to shoot the shop and she casually asked me to be in a photo. being the camera shy animal that i am i protested but in the end i allowed her to snap one solo shot after which i broke out into a menopausal like flash and blushed all the shades of red. consequently this singular photo ended up as the key frame for the article written on the shop. mortifying.

anyway. since it is being shared all over the internet i decided i would share it as well.

in other exciting news top shop has officially opened in toronto and i have initiated a 'no spending' strike on my visa for the month of october. i plan to purchase myself a very expensive birthday gift.

desperate times

how i would go about prostituting myself for money

9 to 5

sometimes i forget how much simpler it was being a student. i get that i put countless hours into essays, projects presentations and studying but regardless i did things on your own time, pace and leisure. real life is nothing like that. although i dont work a standard work day, after 8 hours on my feet i am fully exhausted. the fact that last night i decided it would be brilliant to hit up the local watering hole/slum bar and get wasted off of their cheapest white, pinot of course, doesnt make my day any easier. can you say raging hangover.

what i am really trying to get at is university life. every school has its stereotypes and as for western they are practically set in stone. one person in particual is doing a class act job of insuring that the rest of the world is well aware that there is only one day of the week in london that you dont go out, tuesday, but in toronto i can make it happen.



you gotta give this girl some credit, she really knows what it is to be the most typical western girl that exists.

im officially employed! yesterday i was hired as a sales girl/stylist at mendocino. i start training tomorrow and im very excited. i haven't been working for months now and although its great to have time to relax and smell the roses its become a little bit excessive. i know i was traveling and all that jazz but i think its going to be very rewarding to have a routine and get a better understanding of the industry that i want to be in.

anyway, thats the serious bit done. i am just sitting in my kitchen hanging out with bijoux. i am obsessed with her.

i found out about this blog that is written from the point of view of a bunny, fifi lapin. she is a fashion savvy londoner who has been praised by top designers and magazines alike. i cannot believe i didnt think of this first. its adorable, check it out.
